Letter sign-on: Allow civil society to submit new supplemental reports for the UPR

The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated and exposed the human rights violations in our communities and cities across the country. We believe that the stakeholder report submissions for the upcoming Universal Periodic Review of the United States’ human rights record must be re-opened to allow for supplemental submissions with recent updates regarding human rights during COVID-19, for a more accurate assessment.

Please sign-on to this letter we are sending to the UN Human Rights Council President. We must ensure that civil society is heard during these unprecedented times.

To endorse the letter, please email humanrights@aclu.org with your organization’s name.

Read the draft letter here.

The deadline to sign-on is Wednesday, May 20.
